Recognising a Career: Farewell Ken Nicholls

After more than 20 years at Stort Group, Ken Nicholls has made the decision to retire.

Ken joined Stort Chemicals (now Stort Group) in 2001 as part of the sales team and quickly proved his worth in the family business, working his way up to become Sales Manager. By spending years building successful relationships with our Principals and customer, he played a key role in making Stort the company it is today.

We celebrated Ken’s retirement last month. The Stort Team gathered after work at Roni’s in Bishop’s Stortford for pre-drinks and then sat for a 3-course dinner in honour of Ken.

As he closed this chapter surrounded by his work colleagues, he reflected on the remarkable journey filled with challenges, successes, and lasting relationships at Stort Group. In true Ken fashion he ended the evening by giving us a quiz on his time before Stort Group.

Iain Coull (Commercial Director) asked to add a few words. “It was a sad day for me when Ken retired. He was with Stort Chemicals when I started at the company 16 years ago. He helped and supported me during all that time through numerous roles and became a really good friend.

Ken will be sorely missed as he’s such a lovely chap and so knowledgeable, but it’s time to stop racing round the country!!”

As Ken now looks forward to traveling, spending time with family, and exploring new hobbies, we will forever treasure his time and contribution at Stort Group.
