Kraemer & Christmas markets

December saw our industrial sales team pack their bags and jet off to Bremen for another valuable opportunity to catch up with old friends, and learn some new tricks! Robert Kraemer is a long-standing partner of Stort Group; a family-owned company that shares our values of quality products, excellent service and technical expertise. Working closely with our suppliers is key to providing this to our UK customers: it’s all about staying on top of the latest technical know-how so we can keep offering you the best, most sustainable solutions in the coatings, inks, composites, and adhesives world.

During the visit, our sales team spent time in discussions and training sessions with Kraemer’s technical staff, touring both the R&D and application labs to get into the nitty-gritty of product formulations and performance characteristics. Armed with the latest knowledge of this unique portfolio, we’re now even better equipped to advise you on choosing the right resin solutions for your specific applications. We also got a tour of Robert Kraemer’s shiny new production plant, opened just last year, where efficiency meets innovation. This next-gen setup doesn’t just boost production—through process control, automation and the latest technologies it helps cut emissions, making the end products more reliable and eco-friendly.

This reflects Kraemer’s dynamic approach and ambition for growth, increasing their production capacity significantly, but also their commitment to putting sustainability front and centre. They’ve now achieved an impressive 71% average biobased content across their entire product portfolio, thanks to the clever use of natural oils, natural polyols, and rosin, and this number is only increasing. 

Did you know that trees can yield an average of 5kg of raw rosin per year, for up to 30 years? We do now! 

This focus was recognised with the award of EcoVadis Gold status in August this year – highlighting their industry-leading position.
